2007 RACE RESULTS

The 2007 version of Beat the Grandpa was a hard fought race with several contenders and "thought to be" contenders looking for the WIN. The first runner with the biggest handicap head start time left the starting line at 9a.m. This years course was held at John Ball Park and most runners welcomed the flat course in the heated conditions. As the runners left the starting gate out on the course the race was looking as if it would be an easy win for the early race leaders as they passed by the first mile even before many of the runners hadn't left the start line yet. The out and back course really plays with your mind when you can see the runners come around the first loop past the start and out onto the Kent Trails and you haven't even left the starting line yet. The lead off Lady...Suzanne Kozloski held on to the lead valiantly until she was past by what looked to be the eventual race winner...Loren Redder but he was to be pasted in the last mile by an outstanding effort from a Eastern Michigan and former Grandville High School distance star runner...Luke Chrusciel who over came all handicap start times and won the race overall in a great time of 26:01. This is the first time that an open runner has Beat all the Handicap Runners so are hats are off to Luke...Nice Job!
